Relationships & Couples
Let’s create the relationship that works for each of you.
Kink | Polyamory | Queer
You love your partner(s). They love you. But things are hard right now.
Every relationship has its ups and downs, and doing life in a queer, polyam, or kinky one comes with its unique challenges. But when you start to get stuck in patterns of conflict or encounter big or unexpected obstacles, it may be difficult to even remember what brought you together in the first place.
Your partner(s) and you may be:
Struggling with communication: feeling like you have the same argument over and over, with little to no progress
Exploring a new dynamic: a partner coming out or wishing to pursue non-monogamy
Differing in desires or preferences: navigating different ideas about sex or relationship dynamics
Making important decisions: looking for support as you decide whether to stay together or make other changes
Things I can help with:
Opening up the relationship
Improving communication & reducing conflict
Coming out to partner(s)
Parenting difficulties
Differing sexual preferences, including kink & BDSM
Navigating insecurities or challenges related to polyamory
Zero shame. Just support.
My Approach to Relationship Therapy
You may not be able to relate to all of the relationships you see modeled around you. That’s okay. Rather than trying to conform to existing molds, therapy can be a place where you and your partner(s) create something new—something that works for you.
In couples therapy, we’ll look at each of your styles of attaching and relating to one another, explore what’s going on emotionally under the surface of those arguments or challenges, and start building new skills of relating, communicating, and meeting each of your needs.
As your therapist, I’ll support each of you in hearing and feeling heard. You’ll have the opportunity to share what’s important to you, and I’ll encourage you to tune into your own values & needs just as much as you tune into your partner’s.
What if your relationship could evolve into something even better than what it’s been before?
Common Questions About Couples & Relationship Therapy
Q: Will you see me without my partner(s)?
A: Yes. I offer both individual and couples/polyam therapy. If you’re interested in exploring how you as an individual show up in your relationships, I would be happy to work with you 1:1. If your couple, triad, or other dynamic is looking for support, I’d love to work with you as a unit.
Q: We’re deciding if we should stay together or not. Can couples therapy help us?
A: Absolutely. Whether you’re contemplating your future together due to a significant change such a partner coming out or are simply not sure if you’re still compatible, I can support you in making that decision together. My approach to relationship therapy is not black and white; you may find that there’s a different dynamic than simply “on” or “off” that makes the most sense for each of you, and we can work together to define what that is.
Q: How do we get started?
A: I want you to get the most out of therapy, and that starts with the relationship you have with your therapist.
